Astronomy Day

Astronomy Day is an annual event held in different countries around the world; intended to provide a means of interaction between the general public and various astronomy enthusiasts, groups, and professionals.

This event has been held since 1973 by Doug Berger; the President of the Astronomical Association in Northern California of the United States. His goal was to set up various telescopes in the crowded parts of the city to show the beauty of the night sky to the local people. Since then the event has expanded and therefore it is now sponsored by a number of astronomical organizations.

Astronomy Day has been held in Iran for about 20 years. It helps local people to enjoy the beauty of the night sky and allows them to see distant objects by the telescope; objects such as Moon, Venus, Jupiter, and many other objects.

Originally, Astronomy Day starts from Thursday to Friday, 9-10th of May 2019 in different cities of Iran like Tehran, Shiraz, and Esfahan.

You can enjoy this day if you plan on traveling to Iran. Destinations (Astronomy)
