Say Hello to Spring

Regarding the migration time of many species in this season, we see the arrival of the first groups of migratory birds to Iran, such as Red-breasted Flycatcher, Little Ringed Plover, Siberian Stonechat, Steppe Gray Shrike, Menetries’s and Sykes’s Warblers, Eurasian Wryneck, … as well as a number of Wheatears like Black-eared Wheatear and Fincher’s Wheatear are also visible in the mountains of the great city of Tehran in these days.

The birds say hello to spring and goodbye to winter with their first songs in this season and inviting enthusiasts to visit them. In birds and birdwatchers motion have been increased by changing the season and it’s another good time for the pleasure of watching birds with first arrival species.

According to reports and surveys conducted, birds like Lesser Crested Tern, Greater Crested Tern, Bridled Tern and White-cheeked Tern live on the Nakhlino Island (in South of Iran)for laying and chicks grow from early March until the end of September.

A large part of the 550 species of birds in Iran is considered migratory birds. These birds are divided into several groups;  a group that is native to the country and breeding in Iran. Other groups of birds are winter migratory birds, and the other group is the birds that migrate to our country for spring and summer. Of course, another group is also passage birds and they are guests of our country’s wetlands for about a few weeks.
