1-day Deir-e Gachin Astronomy Tour
Scheduled for the second half of the year
At 9 O’clock AM, we depart from Tehran toward the city of Rey, the ancient capital of Iran. We arrive at Shah-Abdol-Azim Shrine at 10 and after visiting the site we go to its astronomy center and museum and we learn about the old astronomy and astronomical tools. At 12 O’clock we will stop at a restaurant in Rey to have lunch. After lunch, we will visit Tughrul Tower remaining from the Seljuk era and later we will go to Cheshmeh Morteza Ali which is another beautiful site in the city of Rey. At 15 we will drive toward Deir-e Gachin Caravanserai and visit this Safavid caravanserai and listen to the explanations. After a short rest and having our evening meal and after the sunset we will deal with nature above and that means the night sky. At first, we learn how to deal with and wander under the night sky and then we will get to the constellations and the myths related to them. Watch the crescent moon go down and then we will get to the shiny masses by a 14-inch Dubsony Telescope. Observing at 20 O’clock and returning to Tehran.
