Iran is an ideal place for observing wildlife, with approximately 500 species of birds, 160 mammals, and a high number of native plants and also invertebrates. With many regions in Iran which are still relatively unknown territories for the botanists. Recently it is estimated that the country is home to over 1000 plant species and this may yet prove to be conservative. Protected areas and national parks offer a refuge for wildlife, where you can watch strange birds, reptiles, mammals, distinctive insects and butterflies, all inside their natural habitats.
