Dal Adas

Dal Adas is a simple and very spicy dish that originated in the southern part of Iran. The main ingredient of this dish is the red lentils and it is quite hot and spicy because of the ground cayenne pepper used in the recipe. Dal Adas is vegetarian food that is usually served with rice or a piece of bread.

This meal is prepared quickly and has a satisfying taste along with a rich combination of tart and spicy flavors.  Red lentils require less time to be cooked as compared with other varieties. Generally, lentils cook faster than any other legumes and need to be soaked in the water for several hours before cooking.

Ingredients: Dal Adas

Red lentils: One and a half cup
Crushed garlic: 3 cloves
Chopped onion 1 large number
Potatoes: 2 medium
Tomato Paste: 2 tablespoons
Oil, salt, pepper, and turmeric to the extent necessary
Tamarind: 1 cup Qeyme Boushehri and shekar polo
